Ikirwa admits children from the age of four into Nursery, and into other year groups where places allow. We welcome enquiries from families in Midawe and the surrounding villages, and from further afield for boarding places. Prospective parents are invited to visit the school and meet the Headmaster.
How to apply
- Contact the school office to arrange a visit.
- Complete an application form and provide the child’s birth certificate and any previous school reports.
- The child meets a teacher; for older children there is a short assessment in English and mathematics.
- An offer is made and a place is confirmed on payment of the registration fee.
Fees
Ikirwa is a non-profit school. Fees are set to cover the cost of running it and are published each year for day and boarding pupils. Please ask the school office for the current fee schedule and payment terms.
The Ikirwa Scholars programme
One place in five is held for a child who shows strong potential and a good attitude to school but whose family cannot afford the fees. Scholars are selected on need and merit, mostly from the local villages, and their places are fully funded by sponsors. A scholar’s education is identical to any other pupil’s; the only difference is who pays.
