Ikirwa’s founder, Gasper Mbise, runs Neeko Tours, an Arusha safari and climbing company. Many of the people who built this school met him on the way up Kilimanjaro. If you are planning a climb, you can make it a charity climb for the school.
How it works
- Book your Kilimanjaro or Mount Meru climb with Neeko Tours. Charity climbers get a discount on the climb.
- Choose what you are raising for: a sponsorship, a project, or the general fund. We suggest a target and give you the facts and photos for your page.
- Set up a fundraising page on GlobalGiving, JustGiving or GoGetFunding, or ask Neeko to set one up for you.
- Before or after your climb, visit the school. Meet the children, see the classrooms, hand over the desks you paid for. It is an hour from Arusha and it is the part people remember.
Groups and companies
Teams of three or more get a further discount on the climb, and a team can realistically fund a classroom. We can also arrange a volunteer week at the school before a climb or safari.
