Ikirwa is an independent school and runs on fees. We keep at least one place in five free for children who could never afford it: the Ikirwa Scholars, chosen on need and merit from Midawe and nearby villages. Sponsors pay their way.
What sponsorship covers
A new scholar costs $41 a month, or $508 for the full year including transfer fees. A continuing scholar costs $35 a month or $421 a year. That pays tuition, textbooks, exercise books, two uniforms, breakfast porridge and a hot lunch every school day. There is no administration fee taken out.
What you get
When you sign up we send you a profile of the child you are sponsoring and an invoice. During the year you will receive letters and artwork from your pupil and an end-of-year report. Many sponsors visit, and some have sponsored the same child from nursery to Class 7.

How to pay
US sponsors give through the Ikirwa School Project, a 501(c)(3), so gifts are tax-deductible. European sponsors give through Midawe Hope e.V. in Germany. Anyone can give by card through GlobalGiving. Tell us where you are and we will send the right link and the child’s profile.
